Aircraft wrecks

In Los Angeles County, the San Gabriel and Sierra Pelona Mountains are dotted with aircraft crash sites, strewn in rugged canyons and peaks. Contributing factors to accidents include weather, pilot error or aircraft malfunction. In a few instances, the pilots walked away scratch-free, but crashes often resulted in fatalities.
